Over the next few pages, you ll build a CAPTCHA component. This will take the form of an HTML helper method, Html.Captcha(), which you can add to any view template to display a CAPTCHA image. You ll also add to the same view page a text box into which the visitor is asked to type the solution. When the visitor posts the form back to one of your action methods, you ll call a static method, CaptchaHelper.VerifyAndExpireSolution(), to determine whether their attempted solution is correct. Html.Captcha() will generate some random solution text and store it in the visitor s Session[]collection under a random GUID key (known as the challenge GUID). It will then render a hidden form field containing the challenge GUID.
